The Sacramento Kings have signed guard Adam Flagler to a two-way contract, as reported by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Flagler becomes the second two-way signing for the Kings, following the agreement with former Toronto Raptors forward Jonathan Mogbo. Last season, Flagler played for the Austin Spurs, the San Antonio Spurs' G League affiliate, where he appeared in 17 games, starting 12 of them, and averaged 14.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 4.9 assists in 31.1 minutes of action.
Flagler also displayed defensive versatility with 1.1 steals. The 26-year-old did not receive a call-up from San Antonio throughout the season, meaning his last NBA game was with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He played for the Thunder for two seasons, from 2023 to 2025, and appeared in 37 games in the 2024-25 season. Coach Mark Daigneault primarily called Flagler's name when his team dominated its opponent, and Flagler averaged 1.8 points in 5.5 minutes when he took the court.
During his brief stint in Oklahoma City, Daigneault gave Flagler some advice that he lives by as he competes to extend his NBA career. Flagler told the Down to Dunk podcast host Andrew Schlecht that he needs to restart his mindset every day and go 0-0, challenging himself to be as consistent as possible. Flagler also spent time with the OKC Blue, Oklahoma City's G League affiliate, in the 2023-24 season, where he appeared in 30 games and averaged 14.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 25.8 minutes.
Flagler showed some three-point range during that season, shooting 40.6% on 6.9 attempts. The former Baylor Bear posted a career-high 31 points against the Texas Legends on November 21, 2024, adding seven rebounds and eight assists to his career night. Like his two-way teammate Mogbo, Flagler will join the Kings' summer league roster ahead of the California Classic, a three-day tournament where Sacramento will face the Brooklyn Nets.
As a two-way signing, Flagler should receive ample playing time to show the front office and coaching staff what he provides to the team. Sacramento was affected by the injury bug last season, so a decent showing in the summer could see Flagler make his return to an NBA floor sooner rather than later. Flagler is a nice two-way addition, alongside Mogbo, and the Stockton Kings could have another good G League season, having won back-to-back conference championships and the G League Finals in 2025.
